2 GETTING YOUR COMPOST PILE "PILED UP" (COMING SOON)
3 SOME PRUNING (COMING SOON)
4 PREPPING YOUR BEDS FOR EXTENDING THE SEASON (NEXT POST)
If you haven't already done so, please collect your seeds! Many fruits and veggies are easily de-seeded; just let them dry a few days, then mark your envelope with the name, place, month/year, and any other notes you feel you need to remember to watch for with this particular species. Keep them in a cool, dark place. You may want to keep them all in one box, maybe even in the fridge. You can sprinkle rice in the bottom of the box (fridge or not) to help absorb moisture. DON'T GET YOUR SEEDS WET! THEY WILL THINK IT IS TIME TO GROW!
Some (very few) seeds will need to be stratified by placing them in the freezer for a certain amount of time. If so, it will say on the seed packet, WHICH I AM SURE YOU SAVED! IF NOT, refer to the seed co.'s instructions on that species.
TIPS ON SAVING TOMATO SEEDS: You can just save them on a paper napkin, but most experts agree that fermentation is better. This link is to a professional seed co.'s explanation: http://permaculturenews.org/2014/07/08/save-tomato-seeds/
This one is a bit easier: https://www.mastergardeners.org/pdf/import/SGM/files/Saving_Tomato_Seeds.pdf AND I RECOMMEND USING THE SECOND LINK!
